Fun, quirky, chocolates galore and yummy! We dropped by for a quick lunch (dictated by the one hour parking meter) and ordered the vegie curry soba and the kakuni pork (slow cooked pork belly on rice with korean chilli). The food was very yummy, came out quickly (quicker than it took for us to decide on what to order!) and the staff were friendly. That’s all you need really!
The bonuses? Heaps of fancy little homemade treats on their counter, like chocolate budha heads, maneki-neko (lucky cat) chocolates, little pralines and mini cakes. Then there was a fridge display shelf full of chocolate slabs, desserts in cups, matcha shakes and matcha brownies and our little purchase, matcha ganache fudge. And plenty of pre-packed lunch boxes and pre-made handrolls for lunch on the go.
The thing stopping this place from getting a three mochi rating is that the vegie curry is very light on vegies. There were about 4 pieces of veg in the whole bowl! However, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be dropping by this peanut place on a regular basis to get my afternoon sugar fix – it’s a great place to visit if you work or live nearby.

Our mains: veg curry soba on the left and the kakuni pork on the right, the chilli came painted on the bottom of the plate. The pork belly was all fall-aparty goodness with just the right amount of fat – not one for lean machine meat eaters! (I can never get a photo without bubsy’s hands in it!)

Matcha ganache – total awesomeness!

The quirky interiors – check out the octopus on top of the drinks fridge! And that’s the dessert fridge next to it.
