My fifth week as a daily Docklands weekday visitor and I’ve finally found a sushi place that I think will be very reliable. I wasn’t planning on getting sushi, but the queue snaking its way outside the door beckoned – what is it about lines that make people join them?
Anyway, Sukara has a small, simple menu: bento, ramen or sushi. I got the volcano salmon sushi pack, which was all salmon with a hint of avocado and rice – my ideal! They had heaps of other options too, including the grilled salmon sushi, teriyaki salmon sushi, lobster and salmon sushi, caviar and salmon sushi… Then they had their sushi rolls, rice paper rolls, salads…
I saw a few people get the bento boxes – they were huge! And only $10, $8 if you got the bento of the day.
Service is quick (it’s all takeaway), the food is not the absolute best but it’s good for cheap takeaway. I think Sukara will become my new back up takeaway lunch venue for those days where I just can’t be bothered packing some lunch.
